Designed for students in Grades 5–7, our Art Techniques Advancement Class focuses on strengthening core art skills through four key areas: Drawing (Sketching) for structure and shading, Watercolor for transparency and layering, Acrylic Painting for texture and color control, and Still Life Observation for realism and composition. This course helps students refine their techniques, expand their artistic vocabulary, and develop confidence as young artists ready for advanced creative study. Grade 5–7 (Ages 10–12) – Pre-Portfolio Development Older students refine their fundamentals and creative voice, preparing for advanced art or future portfolio building. -Develop perspective, anatomy, composition, and lighting. -Create more complex projects such as environments, characters, and props. -Work with graphite, ink, acrylics, watercolor, mixed media, and digital painting. -Begin building process pages and learning how to critique artwork. Parents can expect: Students start creating longer-term, polished pieces that demonstrate both creativity and discipline, with exposure to both traditional and digital workflows. Duration (1 class per week, 2 hours per class) Perfect for: Kids Gr.5-7 who love to draw, build, and tinker no experience needed. lots of hands-on time.
