What is Portfolio Development at NPC?
One-on-one and small-group mentorship that builds a university application portfolio for art and design programs — from first concepts to the final presentation. Each student works with a mentor in their chosen major.
What grades is it for?
Portfolio Development is for students in Grades 8–12. Students aged 13–15 who are not ready for a portfolio yet usually start in Art Enrichment.
Which majors can I prepare a portfolio for?
Nine majors: concept art, game art, animation, fashion design, architecture, interactive design, industrial design, graphic design and interior design. Each has its own page with student work and recommended schools.
Which universities have NPC students been admitted to?
NPC students have received offers from Cornell, RISD, Carnegie Mellon, Parsons, ArtCenter and more than 30 other art and design schools. The full published record is on the Results page.
How do I enrol?
Portfolio tracks start with a free portfolio consultation, where you meet a mentor and an admissions counsellor and review current work. Portfolio seats are limited each intake, and these tracks are not booked online.
Do I need a portfolio already to start?
No. Bring whatever recent work you have to the consultation. If the foundations need more time, we will recommend a starting point before portfolio work begins.
